| Ashley West Staton and Eric John Blasberg were introduced at a party given by mutual friends in New York. Three years later, they were reintroduced at the Newport, Rhode Island, wedding of the same friends. Timing is everything, and the two talked exclusively for most of the evening. Three years later, Eric proposed while sailing on his boat on Long Island Sound. The Reverend John Branson performed the evening ceremony at Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport, and a reception followed at the Inn at Longshore. The bride, daughter of Anne Gonder Staton of Norfolk, Virginia, and Robert Harold Staton Jr. of Durham, North Carolina, graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham School and Rollins College. She is an account executive with Vineyard Vines in Stamford. The groom, son of Janet and Ronald George Blasberg of Riverside, graduated from Greenwich High School and Colgate University. He is a director at Shields Associates in Stamford. Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple returned home to Stamford. |
