Aubree Ellen Pappas and Michael Emory Basham Jr. met through mutual friends while living in Charlotte, North Carolina. The groom proposed after a two-year courtship, and the couple relocated to California, where they fell in love with the beautiful scenery. Their desire to share this with their family and friends led to a destination wedding in the Santa Barbara wine country. The Reverend Kathleen Crowe officiated at the Firestone Winery and Vineyards, and a reception followed.
Bree, as the bride is known, is the daughter of Eve and Peter Pappas of Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Myers Park High School and North Carolina State University. She is a senior graphic designer and design manager with the BOLT Group.
Michael, son of Jane and Michael Basham of Riverside, graduated from Brunswick School and Wake Forest University. He is the director of rock and alternative promotion with RCA Music.
The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They reside in Santa Monica, California.
