Freeman-Renehan
Alittle rain could hardly dampen the joy of the marriage of Sarah Whitehouse Freeman to Peter Drew Renehan. The two were married in Weekapaug, Rhode Island, by the Reverend Julia Fuller in the Weekapaug Chapel. A reception followed at Spray Rock Cottage, the Freemans’ summer home. It was the seventh Freeman wedding to take place there.

The couple met when Peter approached Sarah, who was changing a bilge pump on her boat, and offered to help her. Their shared love of boating and the water ensured a first date, and Peter proposed on his boat last summer as they were cruising Long Island Sound.

The bride, daughter of Barbara Freeman of Greenwich and the late Jonathan Whitehouse Freeman Jr., graduated from Greenwich High School and the University of Connecticut. She works at Ellington Management in Old Greenwich.

The groom, son of Dorothy and John Renehan of Madison, Connecticut, graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. He works for Heidenreich Marine in Norwalk.
The newlyweds’ love of the sea took them cruising throughout the British Virgin Islands, but their home port is Greenwich.
