Combe-Shoemacher
Christie Bruen Combe and Michael Joseph Shoemacher met in French class at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It came as no surprise to their families and friends that when the couple spotted each other across the crowded room, they were speaking the language of love.

The Reverend Robert Naylor, a senior pastor at the Second Congregational Church in Greenwich, and the Reverend Canon Louis C. Schueddig of Atlanta, Georgia, married the couple. The Reverend Schueddig, a fraternity brother of the father of the bride, had married the bride’s parents thirty-three years ago. A reception followed at the Riverside Yacht Club, with groomsmen sporting custom-made Vineyard Vines ties emblazoned with shoes, combs and Champagne bottles.

The bride, daughter of Chris and Courtney Combe of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Miami University. She was, until recently, an account executive at Element 79 Partners in Chicago.

The groom, son of Mark and Monica Shoemacher of Tucson, Arizona, graduated from Centennial High School and Miami University. He is a senior equity analyst for Heitman, a real estate investment firm.

Mr. and Mrs. Shoemacher have relocated to Frankfurt, Germany.
