Charles Hilton Architects
Charles Hilton Architects is no stranger to trophies. Hilton and his team swept the competition at this year’s Home Building Industry (HOBI) Awards. Three of Hilton’s impeccable projects nabbed ten separate HOBI awards, which are bestowed for excellence in home design, construction, home technology and community service. A favorite project of the evening was Hilton’s new slate and stucco Colonial guesthouse—the same stunner that landed a finalist spot in the Traditional Architecture Less Than 7,000 Square Feet category at last year’s A-List Awards. The project won Best Out of State Custom Home, Best Outdoor Living Environment and Best Outdoor Feature for its outdoor fireplace. Another project, a gardener’s cottage in Greenwich with imported French plaster walls, won the Best Residential Remodel $2-3 million category. But the evening’s biggest hit was a residence in Greenwich, crafted by Hilton’s team to look like an old French manor barn. The French Normandy masterpiece snagged a grand total of seven awards, including Best Custom Home 6,000-7,000 Square Feet, and the Custom Home of the Year and “Project of the Year” grand prizes.
