Spin to Keep the Lights On for Kids
Boys & Girls Club Committee to host ‘Power4Power’ spin classes to raise money for a Club generator
Spin into a healthier new year and keep the lights on for kids! The Boys and Girls Club Committee is hosting 'Power4Power' spin classes to raise money for a club generator.
Help the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich prepare for the next storm, power outage, or other emergency by participating in its first Power4Power spin fundraiser. A power outage on an afternoon means hundred of Club kids are out of touch with parents in a darkened clubhouse with only an emergency stairwell and exit lighting. A backup generator can power the telephone system, and lighten dark hallways, turning a scary situation into a safe haven for club members and their families. And if the community is in need of a power boost, just as was the case in past storm Sandy, the Club will be up and riding sooner to assist.
BGCG needs the power of the Greenwich community to secure a generator for the Club. $75,000 is needed for the installation, operation and upkeep of the generator. By participating in one or all four spin classes, individuals can get involved by registering to attend at the luxurious Equinox of Greenwich. Equinox has studios that are equipped with the latest in Schwinn technology, ensuring a challenging and invigorating ride from beginning to end.
‘Fitness Buffs’, ‘Do Gooders’ and supporters are invited by the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Power4Power committee to join in the fun for this electric cause. Classes will be lead by the popular P.J. Johns, Karen Leach and Emma Swain.
For the convenience of supporters there are four spin classes to choose from:
Saturday, Jan. 26th at 2:00 P.M. – Session Lead by P.J. Johns
Wednesday, Jan. 30th at 11:00 A.M. – Session Lead by P.J. Johns
