Greenwich Outdoor Dining
Seven spots in Greenwich to enjoy a meal outdoors!
The weather is warm and we're all taking every opportunity to spend time outdoors after a long, snowy winter. In the spring and summer, there is nothing quite like enjoying a meal in the fresh air, taking in the natural beauty around us as we savor every bite.
Here's a list of some of the best restaurants that offer outdoor dining in Greenwich!
Terra brings the taste of Tuscany to Connecticut. Whether you try the flash fried calamari with saffron aioli and a zesty tomato sauce or save room for the tiramisu, it is a dining experience beyond the ordinary. The Old Word inspired décor adds a nice touch, and in the warmer weather you can dine outdoors at tables that look like a work of art themselves!
Dining waterfront is a breathtaking experience — and one that L'Escale certainly has to offer. You can enjoy a meal while overlooking the harbor from a covered patio, and the restaurant even offers the option of arriving by boat and tie onto a private dock. The Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine both grew up in France, so you can imagine how delectable their cooking is. The menu offers exquisite dishes that combine the ingredients in an exotic way, such as a sea scallop dish that blends English pea puree, morel mushrooms, prescott cheese crisp, and pinot noir. The raw bar completes the harbor view experience, and L'Escale tops it all off with live music during the week.
Named for the Italian word for “Octopus,” this restaurant offers an array of fresh seafood and fine Italian cuisine. But Polpo will please more than just your taste buds – the piano bar offers live entertainment seven nights a week for a unique dining experience. The seating is surrounded by a plethora of flowers that make for a very pleasant atmosphere.
Located close to the picturesque Old Greenwich Shoreline, the Beach House has something to offer the whole family. With everything from Organic Chicken Enchiladas to Cracker Crusted Codfish, there is even a kid’s menu complete with Mac N’ Cheese. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights makes for a relaxed yet exciting night out, and the outdoor seating is nestled amongst shrubbery and the town clock.
With it’s casual atmosphere, Mackenzies in Old Greenwich is like that old friend who is always fun and reliable. The entertainment includes a bar, jukebox, and live music on weekend nights. The menu boasts everything from steak to seafood to pasta. On Friday and Saturday nights, the later hours (open until 2:00 a.m.) draws a young crowd looking to socialize. Sit outside on the patio for a relaxing summer night!
If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, then this unique space in Cos Cob is a must. The Drawing Room includes an art gallery, home boutique, and tearoom with a wide variety of loose teas and a selection of fresh coffee to choose from. In addition to the coffees and teas it is known for, this gem of a restaurant also offers delicious breakfasts, lunches, and elegant deserts served café style. It’s the perfect blend of the finer things in life — art, food, and home décor — and the gorgeous flowers outside the restaurant make for a tranquil setting in which to appreciate beauty as you dine!
With architecture that looks like it is straight out of Italy and food that is just as authentic, Morello Bistro is a must-try. Not to mention that you can choose from over 650 different types of wine from countries all over the world. Excellent menu items include unique dishes such as Roasted Scallops & Caramelized Cauliflower as well as the traditional favorites like Risotto del Giorno. If it suits your taste, the butternut squash ravioli is absolutely delectable!
