GlenArbor Golf Club 10th Anniversary celebration with Gary Player

Morgan Gregory (President), Grant Gregory Sr. (Chairman),William Gregory, Gary Player, Grant Gregory Jr.

GlenArbor Golf Club hosted a celebration to commemorate the ten year anniversary of the formal clubhouse opening. In attendance were golf legend, Gary Player, the golf course architect, many special guests who were instrumental in fulfilling the vision of the Club and GlenArbor members.

Mr. Player is one of golf’s greatest ambassadors, having won 9 Major Championships, 165 professional victories, and is one of only five golfers to achieve the “Career Grand Slam.”

Player, a GlenArbor Club member, was honored at Saturday’s celebration. Player stated, “It is most appropriate that I come back here today to a place I absolutely love. I vividly remember first arriving in Bedford and seeing the great natural beauty and potential of this property. To return now and see this magnificent institution and what it has turned out to be over the short number of years is quite remarkable.”

In commenting on the success of GlenArbor, he credited the management, staff, and members and stated, “I have been associated with magnificent clubs all over the world, but this club has an ambience that is unequaled.”

Even with an impressive record of having designed 325 golf courses around the world, GlenArbor’s signature course is one of Player’s finest. Truly unique, Player ranks GlenArbor’s playing, practice, and golf academy facilities at the top of his design accomplishments for both beauty and architecture. GlenArbor Chairman, Grant Gregory, gave credit to Mr. Player for the initial idea of creating the 27 hole combined golf courses, including a unique teaching facility with a double sided range, state-of-the-art heated indoor facility, and short game practice center: “Gary has been instrumental in building the GlenArbor Golf Academy where players can practice year round, honing their skills with the support of an exceptional professional staff.”

Mr. Gregory stated, “Gary is a man of great vision. His idea of maximizing what God gave us - land, trees, soil, and water, into a beautiful experience is a remarkable achievement. Gary will always be part of the fabric and be given credit for the spirit of GlenArbor.” This spirit encompasses the four formal principles upon which GlenArbor was founded: Honoring the Traditions of Golf, Stewardship of the Land and Conservation, committing to Lifetime Learning and “Giving Back.”
