Three hundred people braved Tropical Storm Andrea and came out for Celebrating Hope 2013, the first benefit for Alzheimer’s Disease ever to take place in Greenwich.
Guests, many of whom wore Alzheimer’s signature purple, were treated to lavish hors d’oeuvres by Food Design Catering, the magic of renowned magician Ryan Oakes, music by DJ Kunjan and a silent auction that featured items for everyone—from tropical getaway vacations to kids parties to beautiful jewelry. Other event sponsors included: Barbara Zaccagnini, Connecticut Pharmacy, the Cos Cobber Restaurant, Deutsche Bank, Edgehill, Grafix Traffic, Granoff Architects, GWAY Printing, The Greens at Greenwich, Horseneck Wine and Liquors, Ivey, Barnum & O’Mara, Kathleen DiGiovanna, Maplewood Senior Living, Moffly Media, Peridot Fine Jewelery, Serenity Beauty & Spa and Winston Flowers.
The inaugural cocktail party, which was held at Richards, raised more than $100,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association, CT chapter. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest private funder of Alzheimer’s research. Proceeds from the evening will support research as well as community and caregiver education and family support services. alz.org/ct.
