Convent of the Sacred Heart’s Parents’ Association sponsored Modern Women: Balancing Home, Job, Family and a Spiritual Life at this year’s fundraiser. The program featured Convent of the Sacred Heart parents Joni Steele Kimberlin of Greenwich and Angela Santomero of Harrison, New York. Mrs. Kimberlin is a producer, director and writer for her production company, Cowgirl Films. She has coproduced and written the script for the award-winning PBS documentary Elizabeth Winthrop: All the Days of Her Life. Her most recent project, Get Real! Wise Women Speak, is a feature-length documentary about the adventure, meaning and value of women’s lives as they age, which premiered at the 2011 SoHo International Film Festival. Mrs. Santomero, creator, executive producer and head writer of the Emmy-nominated Blues Clues, has been changing the way children watch television for more than fifteen years. Her innovative approach to children’s television derives from her background in developmental psychology and education. The luncheon, preceded by a boutique of vendors, was held against the beautiful backdrop of the Westchester Country Club in Rye. The event rasied $35,000 for the professional development of Convent of the Sacred Heart’s faculty and staff.
