Stanwich School Headmaster Paul Geise said it best when he told the crowd, “This was a night of generosity, celebration and community.” The school celebrated their annual benefit, Stanwich Sings! at l’escale restaurant. The musical theme of the event was expressed through a video of songs by students from pre-K to tenth grade and musical performances from faculty. Beloved fourth-grade teacher David Kantor’s nine-piece band, Grand Central Sound, filled the night with music and dancing. The 250 guests hit the dance floor even before the first course was served. The most important part of the night was The Giving Tree, a prop set up with request tags from teachers for supplies. It was cleaned out before 11:00 p.m. and raised over $100,000. Next year the campus will have a new scoreboard, goals, and benches for the new turf field. Shel Silverstein surely would have approved of this giving tree. stanwichschool.org
