Keeping Greenwich Green



Round Hill Club, with its vast and beautifully manicured greens, was the perfect backdrop to host the thirty-fifth anniversary of the annual meeting of the Greenwich Land Trust. The evening celebrated the organizations dedication to preserving and protecting our land. The foundation currently preserves more than 733 acres of land in the Greenwich area. National environmental expert and featured speaker Rand Wentworth offered a unique perspective on regional and grassroots land-protection efforts.The evening also celebrated Dan Barrett, retiring environmental director, for his outstanding service to the GLT. Mr. Barrett, a former Greenwich High School science teacher, has overseen GLT’s land stewardship programs for twenty-four years.The Greenwich Land Trust announced that a special event to honor Dan Barrett and to kick off the Daniel V. Barrett Stewardship Fund will be held on June 9.
