The English Speaking Union

The English Speaking Union celebrated The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and her eighty-sixth birthday with a garden party at the home of Natalie and Malcolm Pray. British Deputy Consul-General, Nicholas Astbury was the guest of honor and proposed the toast to Queen Elizabeth II.

Mary Fernand of Bethel High School and Stephanie Ryan of Greenwich High School were awarded ESU scholarships to study in England for the summer.

Greenwich Academy student Lauren Eames performed a monologue from Timon of Athens for which she was awarded Honorable Mention in the ESU Shakespeare Competition. Guests enjoyed champagne, strawberries and tea sandwiches in true British fashion. esu.org
