A Century of Scouting

Greenwich Scouting

A celebration ceremony held this summer at the Ernest Thompson Seton Reservation marked the exact day of the founding 100 years ago of the Greenwich Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

It followed just two years after the national organization was founded, and can proudly claim to be the only council of the Boy Scouts of America that operates with its original charter, all the others having been subject to mergers or relocation.

Following the ceremony, lunch was served in the Pray Building, a gift by Malcolm Pray Jr. in remembrance of his son Malcolm S. Pray III.
