Get Happy

Drink specials in Greenwich

Happy Hour. Few words sound so sweet after a long day stuck at your desk. For the Greenwich work force, or those commuting back home to Fairfield County, our local Happy Hour specials offer a whole lot to cheer(s) about.

Here are our four favorite reasons to sneak out of work early:

eleven14 Kitchen at J House

Greenwich's newest hot spot has taken standard happy hour fare to a whole new level. Forget mozzarella sticks and cheap beer (not that there's anything wrong with that!) At eleven14 Kitchen, you have your pick of a sophisticated selection of cocktails, wine and beer. At half price, the bill won't cramp your style either. During Happy Hour you can graze on a complimentary offering of mixed spicy nuts, cheese nibbles, homemade vegetable chips and dip as well as sliced salami, or if your stomach is grumbling order from the mouth-watering menu. With food and drink this good you might not even notice all the beautiful people congregating at the bar.

Monday - Friday, 4:30 - 6:30 pm

1114 East Putnam Avenue, Riverside

(203) 698-6999

Barcelona Wine Bar

Fairfield County is home to several Barcelona restaurants, but the Greenwich location has its own unique "social hour" — not to be confused with the typical “happy hour.” A best of the Gold Coast favorite in several categories, you don’t need an excuse to eat and drink at Barcelona. And with a “social hour” that includes $2 - 3 tapas, $3 beers and $4 glasses of wine, it’s no wonder that Barcelona continues to be one of the most popular after work destinations in town.

Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm

18 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich

(203) 983-6400

Beach House Café

The charming beach town of Old Greenwich feels like vacationland — and stepping inside this OG bar/restaurant takes the edge off before you even raise your first glass. Half price appetizer specials include deals like your choice of three apps for $10. Order your favorite glass of Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay or Pinot noir for the happy price of $6 (instead of the standard $9). Craving a beer instead? Choose from eight beers priced at $3.50/bottle. All you have to worry about is catching the train that will get you to the bar by 7:00!

Monday-Friday, 5:00 - 7:00 pm

220 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich

(203) 637-0367

Sundown Saloon

If you're looking for a casual happy hour where you can take off your tie at the bar, Sundown Saloon is your place. A favorite of both college interns and the bosses that hire them, Sundown knows how to make everyone happy. With specials like $2 beers (including Miller Lite, Rolling Rock and Bud) and $5 apps (the nachos and spinach artichoke dip being our favorites) there's plenty to smile about. Plus, Sundown has a packed schedule of drinks specials so you can enjoy a good deal pretty much any time or day. See their website for a schedule of events so you can plan when to come, or just grab your stool and slide up to the copper-top bar to find out what’s happening.

Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm

403 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich

(203) 629-8212
