From the Editor: The Power of Change

For nearly three decades, Greenwich magazine has been introducing you to the colorful and powerful characters of our town. We’ve brought you into the living rooms of industry titans like PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi (ranked tenth on Forbes magazine’s World’s Most Powerful Women list), A-list superstars like Ron Howard, sports heroes like Yankee first baseman Mark Teixeira and countless others. They have opened their worlds to us and trusted us with their personal stories—one-on-one, face-to-face. For that we are exceedingly grateful. It’s what makes us who we are.

And so we are thrilled to present you with our 2014 Power Issue. Here, we dedicate our features to profiling major influencers in a variety of disciplines.

Power is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It has many faces (as clearly evidenced by our cover). And although the members of this year’s group are varied in vocation, age and vision, they share an important commonality: the ability to transform industry—be it by changing accessibility to the international fashion world creating an entirely new, billion-dollar product category or changing how we interact with the Internet. We know you will love meeting these agents of change as much as we loved interviewing and photographing them.

Speaking of change, you’ll surely notice a bit of a new look for us in this issue. We have moved some things around, given our departments a face-lift (and in some cases a new name), and expanded our coverage in areas like home décor, travel and shopping. It’s been a fun process to reconceptualize how we package our product, and we would love to hear what you think. E-mail me at editor@greenwichmag.com.

Change. It sure is a powerful thing.
