Join us for the final concert of our 90th season featuring works by Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Brahms with orchestra and world-class soloists.
German tradition has it that on the night of April 30 (Walpurgisnacht) witches cavort on the tallest of the Harz Mountains. The classically trained Mendelssohn appears to have been pushed to his romantic extreme and created a dark fantasy that moves from intimate instrumental whispers to wild raucous choruses.
