Design a Unique Cake with Sweet Lisa

Date/Time

Jan 15, 2014
06:30 PM until 08:30 PM

Description

Come join us for a fun evening creating a replica of an everyday object out of cake!

You will spend this exclusive evening of advanced cake design with Chef Lisa Maronian and her husband Steve, recently inducted to the prestigious Académie Culinaire de France for his excellence in pastry. Sweet Lisa's has been consistently recognized as one of, if not, the best cake shop in the area, and you will get the chance to experience the magic for yourself!

The experience will begin with a meet and greet and glass of wine. Then everyone will agree on what to make for the group cake and how it will look. It could be in the form of a Baseball cap, an Ipad, a cup of coffee, really anything that can be done in the allotted time frame. Once the group has chosen a project, you will work with Chef Lisa to design it, sketch it out, and create a game plan. Each person will participate in its creation.

You will learn and practice the basic techniques of cake design: basic buttercream icing décor, piping techniques, crumb coating, ice and pipe designs of dotted Swiss lace, swags, basket weave and Cornelli lace techniques; all or some of which you will actually perform to create the cake.

With Chef Lisa's guidance, you will be astonished at how quickly and easily you can turn a simple birthday cake with layers of frosting into the cake of your dreams in the shape of Mount Rushmore, an electric guitar, a helicopter…the sky is the limit!

Come have fun, then at your next dinner party impress your friends and family with your new skills.
