Gain in depth knowledge of the gastronomy, terroir, varietals and wine-making styles of Alsace and the Loire Valley. Both of these regions produce some of France’s most notable white wines (and a few reds as well!) and they are known for being truly at the mercy of their terroir. Personally, I believe that some of the world’s best wine values lie in these two areas as they are heavily over-shadowed by their neighbor and wine leader, Burgundy. This class will explore the many notable varietals that are exceptional in Loire and Alsace, as well as the terroir and a tasting of great value wines from both regions.
