 <p>\n	Musician Kevin Briody brings his successful songwriting class back t
 o the Playhouse! A two-time Emmy® award-winner\, he is an internationally 
 recognized singer and songwriter who has shared the stage with talented ar
 tists ranging from Art Garfunkel to Aimee Mann. In 2008\, Kevin took home 
 his first Emmy for Best Original Song with “Little Starr”— a tune that als
 o earned him a BMI Film & Television Award. His 2009 song “We All Fall Dow
 n” earned him a second Emmy in the Best Original Song category that same y
 ear. A recording star in his own right\, Briody has released four CDs to d
 ate. His song 'We're All Heroes' opened the Connecticut Special Olympic Su
 mmer Games\; Autism Speaks\, a national organization combating autism\, co
 mmissioned him to write the song “Bring Them Back” to help raise awareness
 . Most recently\, Briody’s song “Not Just A Dream” was featured on NBC’s b
 roadcast of The 2010 Winter Olympic Games.</p>\n<p>\n	A resident of Connec
 ticut\, Briody served as the Official State Troubadour from 2000–2002 and 
 has been selected by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism as a 
 Master Teaching Artist. He teaches songwriting workshops to aspiring songw
 riters of all ages. Students will learn everything from structuring ideas\
 , melody\, lyric and instrumentation and will leave with a recording of th
